How e-Aadhaar Digital Signatures Function
Digitally signed PDF documents contain a cryptographic signature associated with a specific byte range of the original document. The verification process checks that signed data against the embedded PKCS#7 / CMS signature.
If the signed PDF has been modified after signing, the cryptographic verification can fail because the signed byte stream no longer matches the signature.
Why Adobe Reader Displays the Question Mark (?)
PDF viewers can distinguish between a mathematically valid signature and a certificate that is trusted by the viewer's configured trust settings.
This tool performs the cryptographic signature verification on the server and displays the result over the existing PDF signature location.
Original PDF Remains Unchanged
The uploaded PDF is not re-signed, flattened, edited, or modified. PDF.js renders the original document in the browser and the green validation indicator is an HTML overlay.
Zero-Retention Processing
The uploaded document is processed in an ephemeral server-side working directory and removed after verification.
